Somewhere In Time@The Movie Theater Mall

When talking about “Somewhere In Time” people will find these words—“Beyond fantasy. Beyond obsession. Beyond time itself….he will find her. What do you think? I’ve found many criticisms about this movie. Here are samples:

*The movie surrounds its love story with such boring mumbo jumbo about time travel that we finally just don't care.

* While Somewhere In Time was trounced by jaded critics, the fans knew better, and the film found its own audience, despite being in theatres for only 3 weeks, or less in some areas. It did its own marketing, by word of mouth, and via the medium of cable, which started showing the film when cable stations were brand new avenues of film offering. Cable stations found themselves deluged with letters, asking for the movie to be run again, and again. Consequently, the studio belatedly realized how much the movie was loved.

* Somewhere In Time is one of the most rented films of its age and time. Many people report that they have gone to their video store to rent it, only to find it checked out, time after time. It continues to sell on video among Universal's biggest blockbuster movies, including E.T. and Jaws.

But what I got from Wikipedia is timeline that makes me confuse. And all critics are nothing for me at all even though I’ve watched this movie for several times. Consider the followings:
1912
-Thursday, June 27: Richard wakes up at the Grand Hotel and meets Elise near the lake.
-Friday, June 28: Richard invites Elise to go on a walk with him. Later that night, he attends her play.
-Saturday, June 29: Richard finds a 1979 penny in his pocket and wakes up. He also leaves behind his pocket watch.
1972
-May 19: Elise returns the pocket watch to Richard. She also returns home and dies of old age.
1980
-Richard stays at the Grand Hotel and falls in love with Elise's picture.
-Richard hypnotizes himself to go back to 1912.
-Richard wakes up from 1912 and tries to go back, but can't.
-Richard dies from a broken heart in his room days later.

Who can tell me where should Richard Collier be after 1912? Would he die somewhere along that way and be re-born as Richard Collier again around late 50s or early 60s? Maybe you’ll find the answer HERE!

Richard Collier<=>Christopher Reeve
Elise McKenna<=>Jane Seymour
