Amazon's summary
Cartoon Series
During the 1980s, one cartoon series ruled the airwaves... The Transformers. This paragon of consumerism was created with a dual purpose--to entertain and to galvanize children to buy the toys. The story and action never stop in a thrilling ride that often makes you forget that you're watching an '80s cartoon with inferior graphics. The violence will also come as a mild shock to those who haven't seen this film for a while--definitely a movie for the 8 and over audience. For those who grew up on this series, this is a movie that must be watched. Unlike cartoon serials before and after, The Transformers relied on solid stories and interesting characters, a manifesto the film itself upholds with gusto and grace while also being morally responsible. Don't underestimate this movie; there is definitely more to it than meets the eye.

The Movie Theater Mall : A film critic(1)
Be a film critic
All of you can be a critic. But you'll have to learn about writing film reviews. Learn what to look for in movies so that you can analyze them as a film critic.
Please remember that anyone can be a film critic.
The first thing is you must be objective. This means when watching a movie--whether it is a cartoon or an epic-- remain objective. Don’t be swayed by who’s in it. Pay no attention to the director. Ignore any stories or rumors you might have heard about the filming of it. Be completely absorbed in the movie, concentrating on the events unfolding onscreen.
Try to make your opinions count and do so in a way that’s forceful. Be stern and unwavering, or be funny. You are the person who is writing as a critic.
Guru said that you’ll gain many admirers and detractors, but if you’ve comfortable with writing in the first person then go ahead—you’re the critic!

The Movie Theater Mall : Anchors Aweigh(1945)
Anchors Aweigh is probably one of the best musicals ever written.Lots of singing and dancing in this one, especially by Gene Kelly. Two sailors go on liberty to see if they can find love and romance. They meet up with a woman who is trying to break into show business.
Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra make such a funny team. The songs they sing together are pure entertainment. Kathryn Grayson is gorgeous and really sweet.
On top of that,if you are fond of piano, you'll be amazed by José Iturbi.
But I think the sweet thing should be remembered is Frank Sinatra's playing piano and singing "I Fall In Love Too Easily".
Here you are! And good luck every music lover!
Lyrics by Sammy Cahn
Music by Jule Styne
Recorded by Frank Sinatra, 1946; from the movie "Anchors Aweigh," 1945

The Movie Theater Mall : The Singing Nun(1966)
Nothing more to say about this very warm heart film. The film is somewhat syrupy and a bit simplistic, but correct in most essentials and, after all, quite entertaining. The music, of course, is the best thing from Debbie Reynolds' voice. "Beyond the Stars" is excellent for everyone to listen but "Dominique" gives us such a warm impression.
By Sister Sourire
Dominique, nique, nique I will tell of Dominique
His goodness to acclaim
And I pray the song I sing
Will some simple pleasure bring
That the world shall know his name!
I will tell of Dominique as I sing this little song
And when I sing the chorus all the world will sing along!
Dominique, nique, nique it was good Saint Dominique
He lived for you and me
From his labors long ago
Came a better world I know!
And his love shall always be!
“Though I'm poor”, said Dominique as he spoke unto the Lord,
“I will be your humble servent and your love is my reward”!
Dominique, nique, nique I will follow Dominique
His burdens will I share
For his courage will I pray
His teachings to obey! His words shall be my prayer!
By the kindness of his heart and the labor of his hand
He brought love and understanding as he wandered through the land!
Dominique, nique, nique I will tell of Dominique
His goodness to acclaim
And I pray the song I sing
Will some simple pleasure bring!
All the world shall know his name!
Dominique the mighty warrior was a soldier of ther Lord
His armor was devotion and the Gospel was his sword!
Dominique, nique, nique it was good Saint Dominique
He lived for you and me
From his labors long ago
Came a better world I know!
And his love shall always be!
Through the blazing heat of summer and the chill of winter snow
I will follow Dominique! In his footsteps I will go!
Dominique, nique, nique I will follow Dominique
His burdens will I share
For his courage will I pray
His teachings to obey! His words shall be my prayer!

The Movie Theater Mall : Victor/Victoria(1982)
This is absolutely the best film ever! Great story about being a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman for a change. Julie Andrews is great playing such a role.
The film is easy to be loved to see. One might have seen this film more than 30 times , and still not tired of it.
The musical numbers are mostly confined to the nightclub stage. Among the songs and music by Henry Mancini and Leslie Briscusse are "Crazy World," "Cherry Ripe," "Gay Paree," "Le jazz Hot," "The Shady Dame from Seville," "Chicago, Illinois," "You and Me," "King's Can-Can," and various reprises. The film won an Academy Award for Best Music, Original Song Score or Adaptation Score. It was also nominated in a slew of other Oscar categories, and Julie Andrews won a Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy/musical.
Julie Andrews sang this very sweet melody with good lyric meaning.
Crazy world(from Victor/Victoria 1982)
Music by Henry Mancini
Lyrics by Leslie Briscusse
Sung by Julie Andrews
Crazy World
Full of crazy contridictions, like a child.
First you drive me wild, and then you win my heart
With your wicked art.
One minute tender, gentle, then tempermental as a summer storm.
Just when I believe your heart's getting warmer, you're cold, and you're cruel.
And I like a fool, try to cope, try to hang on, to hope.
Crazy worldEvery day the same old roller coaster ride.
But I've got my pride, I won't give in.
Even though I know I'll never win.
Oh, how I love this crazy world.

The Movie Theater Mall : Sayonara(1957)
Sayonara is an adaptation from a James Michener novel, a story about American soldiers serving in Japan during the Korean War.
Air Force Major Lloyd Gruver (Marlon Brando) is reassigned to a Japanese air base, and is confronted with US racial prejudice against the Japanese people.Gruver must take a position when a buddy of his, an enlisted man Joe Kelly (Red Buttons) falls in love with a Japanese woman Katsumi (Miyoshi Umeki) and marries her. Gruver risks his position by serving as best man at the wedding ceremony.
The major also falls in love with a beautiful Japanese Matsubayashi dancer named Hana-ogi (Miiko Taka), a member of a celebrated, but all-female dance troupe. She offers herself to him: "I am not allowed to love. But I will love you if that is your wish." He is asked by a reporter to comment on his proposed marriage to the Japanese woman which will be against "the Social Rule" of both American and Japanese. Gruver replies with the final line of the film: "Tell 'em we said, 'Sayonara."
Many critics said what really sells this movie is the performance of Brando, who handles this adult role with seeming ease. He gives a sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful performance, even if the character is stuck in a well-meaning mushy and meandering movie full of the best of liberal pieties and good intentions.
I agree but please consider the remarkable roles of Red Buttons and Miyoshi Umeki. You'll finally find why both got Oscar awards. This means, for me, Marlon Brando's performance isn't above average.
And the great Irving Berlin wrote such a beautiful song for us, too.
Words and Music by Irving Berlin(1957)
Sayonara, Japanese goodbye
Whisper sayonara but you mustn't cry
No more we stop to see pretty cherry blossoms
No more we stop to see pretty cherry blossoms
No more we 'neath the tree looking at the sky
Sayonara, if it must be so
Whisper sayonara, smiling as we go
No more we stop to see pretty cherry blossoms
No more we stop to see pretty cherry blossoms
No more we 'neath the tree looking at the sky
Sayonara, sayonara......Goodbye.

The Movie Theater Mall : Shall we dance(1937)
Many critics said this film wasn't the best of Astaire and Rogers. Some said Astaire didn't fit for ballet. Another said the story line is light, etc. Whatever they said, you may have to accept that......
"What a wonderful time to watch this film. One of the better Rogers and Astaire teamings. A great score by the Gershwin's. Edward Everett Horton and Eric Blore offer great supporting work."
And yes, the Great Gershwins are below.

The Movie Theater Mall : Charade(1963)
Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant are dynamite in this story of mistaken identity, murder, and stolen loot. A wonderful supporting cast includes James Coburn, George Kennedy and Walter Matthau. Things are not always what they seem, and the suspense builds right up to the surprise ending. The on-screen chemistry between Hepburn and Grant makes for a delightful romance, and the search for the murderer and stolen money is exciting and takes many unexpected twists and turns. This movie is an overlooked gem.
Terrific action sequences include a sprawling fight scene that ends on a hotel roof and a riveting climactic showdown. People agreed that the film’s real climax is the romantic final scene.
Right! Grant and Hapburn are best. But watch carefully on Walter Matthau's best performance. Anyway, the very best thing came up with the Great Duo--Mancini and Mercer.

The Movie Theater Mall : Alfie(1966)
This is one of Caines best films and proof that with the right material he can be a very good actor. The story is based on the popular 1960's British theme of human emotions and how the central character faces up to their shortcomings.
All the rest supporting roles are excellent. As a period 1960's piece, the film is almost flawless and Sonny Rollins' jazzy soundtrack is beautiful. The ending of the film is very moving with Caine summing up his life and the arty end credits being run whilst Cher sings Burt Bacharach's "Alfie" theme tune. Watch it and your views on life will change.
While Alfie did not win any Academy Awards, it was nominated for a slew of them. Best Picture, Best Actor (Caine), Best Supporting Actress (Vivien Merchant),Best Writing and Best Music/Original Song(Burt Bacharach and Hal David).
It won the 1967 Golden Globe for Best English-Language Foreign Film.
It can be said that Alfie is an excellent introduction to Michael Caine's work and, for all its flaws, it remains an outstanding film.
Let's play such a beautiful original song.
